HCG Clarity for Melee involving several units
The recently (8-8-2020) played Covid Battle #2 Shadow Creek brought to light some reminders:
Additional Units in melee
When determining which units melee, it is always the unit in a unit's front arc that is the main melee unit aka the unit which will be die rolled first or mainly, with all other units in hexes also in contact with the common enemy unit ADDING to that melee result.
Each additional unit assisting a unit in melee automatically adds ONE incremental hit to the result of that melee.
Which units advance after melee
Note: advance after melee is optional and was removed from the basic rules in order to prevent certain issues from occurring; if players choose to have Advance after Melee, the priority is as follows:
The unit directly in front facing of an enemy unit is the one that rolls first to see if it advances into the space vacated by the routed enemy unit.
If that unit fails to advance, any additional in contact units that were supporting the melee then roll to see which of them advances to take the space vacated.
