Abatis and other Obstructions
An abatis is a field fortification consisting of tree trunks in a row, with the sharpened tops directed toward the enemy.

Overcoming this obstacle:
All cohesion and unit integrity (any sense of "order") is lost when units attempt to move through and past sharpened stakes in the ground. All units receive 2 TE hits and if embedded in a ditch are 3 TE. In this case, in addition, each unit can only move into the space opposite the abatis and no further in the turn.
