Imex Artillery Barrels
It is true that the Imex 1/72 artillery barrels are no where near appropriate for the American Civil War beyond the first year of the conflict. All of the barrels of the Union and Confederate Artillery kits represent light artillery only; what would appear to be a 6lb brass or bronze gun if you paint it that way, and possibly up to a 6lb or 10 lb iron barrel of unknown manufacturer. But in any case, nothing close to the ubiquitous 12 lb "Napoleon" smoothbore barrel both sides used extensively during the war. Only the Italeri Union artillery kit provides what appears to be a properly shaped 12 lb Napoleon barrel. We are currently working to 3D print 3" Ordinance Rifle barrels so stay tuned. Bear in mind that Strelets is working to release a Whitworth Breech Loading Rifle but in my view this kit is more needed for the crew and the chassis of the gun, not the barrel, because the quantity and impact the Whitworth's had on the war were pretty much zero.
